Pros & Cons of the Insulated Cooler

Some people use the insulated compartment to carry fragile items like cameras or electronics because of its extra padding.

In fact, you don’t have to use this pack to transport food and drinks in order for it to be plenty useful.

As you’ll see, the insulated compartment includes a section organizer, so that you can keep contents organized. This feature also (conveniently) provides more padding for delicate items.

However, this cooler section is small. If you want an insulated backpack primarily for transporting chilled items, this is not the best choice. The MaxCold or Polar Bear are much better insulated and more spacious.

Lastly, the outer backside features a laser-cut latch point so you can strap even more gear to the back or your pack.

The latch point keeps items secure – for things that you need easily accessible and within close reach too.

Backpack Construction

In short, this backpack is well made. The 600D Polyester fabric is “TPE Coated” (Thermoplastic Elastomers). Thermoplastic Elastomers are flexible materials that can stretch, and they also add strength.

All that said, the cooler compartment lacks in cooling capabilities. It works fine for shorter durations and smaller items, but if you want to carry items like 2-liter soda bottles, look elsewhere.
