The Turismo is Functional, Durable & Stylish
This pack has a really sleek design, but you don’t have to give up durability or functionality. It’s perfect if you need a backpack cooler to take to your office or work. (I also like them for outdoor concerts in the park. They just look classy!)
As you can see, the Turismo has pockets for virtually every item that you’d want to carry on a hike, picnic or traveling around town.
For example, a water bottle, map, cell phone, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, wine or bottle opener and more.
My Thoughts on Picnic Time’s Cooler:
Plus, you’ve got a large cooler compartment. This backpack conveniently keeps the cooled items completely separate from other smaller pockets. Therefore, you can carry electronics and other dry items without having to worry that your chilled items will spill, leak or harm them.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to carry ice packs if you want to keep the contents chilled. I like the Rubbermaid Blue Ice Blanket for times when I need a flexible ice pack. Alternatively, a Blue Ice Block lasts longer but takes up more space because it’s larger.
In addition, you can detach the insulated water bottle holder, which I find super convenient. You can keep your drink cold without having to store it in the cooler. Carry it on the outside where you can grab it easily.
Design Features that Make This Backpack Cooler Better:
Picnic Time also created this pack with comfort, convenience and durability in mind. First of all, the adjustable (and no slip!) back straps are paddled. This increases both comfort and bag support.
Unlike some other backpacks, the Turismo also has a padded top carrying handle. Now you can carry your cooler without having to throw it on your back.
Virtually all pockets have secure zippered closures. Two additional side pockets close with velcro. I think that these are good “easy access” compartments for items like sunglasses or snack bars.

Well-made backpack coolers such as the Turismo make me want to have picnics, go on hikes and enjoy the outdoors more often. That in itself is a big benefit.
